Safari 3

Rhino Conservation Botswana

Across Africa, rhinos are fighting for survival.

Botswana could be their last haven and final hope. On behalf of the Botswana government, Rhino Conservation Botswana (RCB) is keeping these precious animals safe for future generations.

RCB has developed a world-class monitoring system to watch over and protect Botswana’s black and white rhinos after their release. The highly trained and fully equipped rhino monitoring teams record detailed information about the rhinos on daily patrols. The data gathered helps us to understand the rhinos’ distribution, reproductive performance, mortality and home range use.

Neutral from any tourism organisation, RCB works closely with the government of Botswana itself, the Department of Wildlife and National Parks and other rhino owners and managers. Together we can help Botswana to make the right decisions to ensure optimal population growth.

“We have big dreams. In the long term, we’d like to see Botswana, our proud country, supporting between 5,000 and 10,000 wild rhinos.”
